Wizarding Wednesday #8

Hey Gang! I know I said "boo hoo - no more wizards ever again," but I had some last minute ideas so it's all OK. In fact, it looks like there will be at least two more Wizarding Wednesdays! Yeah! I'm sorry if any of you were worried about the wizards or anything? I hope I draw more so I can turn them into a mini comic or something? People I like wizards, right?

Anyways! Hello! How are you? What have I missed? I'll tell you what you missed - John Allison said nice things about me on his blog! And he's a big deal! And he wears glasses. Hooray!

On a more serious note, I've been doing lots of thinking about what I want to get out of 2011. What a grown up thing to think. Oh! And I had some new ideas for non-comic things. Prepare to be underwhelmed!

Stay out of trouble

Wizarding Wednesday #2

It's Wednesday again...which can only mean one thing: it's Wizard Wednesday! It was brought back by the persistant demands of a baboon and Lizz Lunney. And by "demands," I mean they left comments about wizards. In case you ever want stuff, just leave me a comment and don't be a spambot.

So here you go! It's Wednesday! There are wizards! And yeah - I know it's a little gross but I think it's rather funny.

FUN FACT: I changed the young wizard from last time so he is actually just Colin Creevey. I'm glad that Colin is finally moving on from Harry...

IN OTHER NEWS: I might have finally placed my order for some fun stuff... but I won't tell you what it is yet in case it all goes wrong.

Harry Potter: Ladium Gagamus!

One of my favourite story lines in the Harry Potter series is...

SPOILERS!

Hermione's transformation from bushy-haired bookworm to boy-magnet bookworm - all in the space of seven brilliant books. I mean, she went from someone with lots of books and no potential smooching...to a library fiend who was fending off boys like you wouldn't believe. I reckon if there was a new book, Voldemort himself would have put the moves on Ms. Granger. Plus, I can't be the only one who thoguht Neville might have had the hots for Hermione?

SPOILERS ARE OVER!

But anyways. Here's a drawing about Harry Potter and Lady Gaga. I hope you like it.

IN OTHER NEWS: I spent the day in bed and feeling poorly. Snots levels are down from yesterday but I still feel like poop. Boo hoo.

Harry Potter: Justin Bieber?

I find the global obsession with teeny tiny Justin Bieber quite alarming...but also interesting. Why is he so popular? Is he the modern equivalent of a unicorn? Is that why people love him? In some weird way I can understand why tweens might be attracted to the 'wildness' of Ke$ha...but Bieber is just so...wholesome? And young!

ANYWAYS! Here's You-Know-Who with precious partner-in-crime, Wormtail! In my mind, Wormtail is so weak-willed that he's always passionate about the latest crazes. This week it's Justin Bieber, back in 1994 it was probably Pogs.

Do you think Justin Bieber knows what Pogs are? Is he OLDER than Pogs??!!

FUN FACT: The Dark Lord originally killed Wormtail in this drawing...but I figured that was too grim. So instead they are going as Rose and Jack from Titanic. Together they will recreate that bit at the helm of the ship...how romantic!

IN OTHER NEWS: I am bastard tired.

Harry Potter: Voldypoops

Hello. I'm super busy this week. Lots of stuff to do...but it should be exciting once I've got on top of things. And once I've stopped crying.

Here is a drawing with He Who Must Not Be Named. He's so spooky...but you just know that he only keeps Bellatrix (boo! hiss!) around for the occassional hug. Although, I do sometimes wonder if they ever got to first base.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Which base do you reckon Voldemort and Bellatrix have gone to?

Harry Potter: Ginny!

Woo! It's Monday! But that means I didn't get to talk about Friday! OMG! Also - check out Miss Sassypants herself - Ginny Weasley is on the scene!

FRIDAY:
On Friday, I was sociable. I went to a pub and spoke to people and didn't run away after three minutes. Well done me. I had a very nice time and got to talk about stuff...mostly the Doctor Who finale. I didn't really like Doctor Who until the new guy arrived. Plus, I like River Song's catchphrase...spoilers, indeed. And I spoke to some people I've been to scared to talk to before. Yeah! The only downside was that getting home was a pain in the arse. Ho hum.

THE WEEKEND:
I was meant to visit a friend's house for a BBQ...but I just woke up on the miserable side of bed. It was weird and unpleasant, but I got lots of drawing done. Oh - and I watched these ace movies:
  1. What a Girl Wants
  2. A Cinderella Story
  3. The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Even those movies were all genetically designed to cheer me up, I just moped about and drew by fingers to the bone. I hope the BBQ Pal won't hate me.

MONDAY:
A friend lent me the latest True Blood book so I'm devouring that. It's not my favourite so far...it feels like a lot of set up is taking place. Blah.

IN OTHER NEWS: It looks like this might be a pretty intense Summer. I'm possibly going to Caption and to Edinburgh! This is more travelling than I've done in the last year. Huh.

Friday = Funday

Sorry for the lack of blogs - it was MCM Expo at the weekend and it was super intense. I will totally write up my review of the whole thing though...but first, I need to write about my exciting adventure to Mount Super Fun!

I went to Mount Super Fun with two friends...but I don't like talking about people on the Internet because it seems odd. So, for the purposes of this blog, they shall be renamed Troy and Sassini. I made us meet up super early to catch the train

Once we'd paid to get into Mount Super Fun (we got there before the doors opened and were totally the first people there - except for the wiggly dog) there was a love machine. The lowest rating was "POOR FISH - TRY AGAIN." I was too scared to try it but I did try a machine later (why did they have so many?!) that told me I was "UNCONTROLLABLE"

There was also a wizard game where you shook hands with the wizard and he would tell you about...you? I didn't want to shake hands with a wizard but Troy did. Here is a picture:

An important thing to know about Mount Super Fun is that it has two exciting parts to explore - more if you're feeling generous. Firstly, there is a castle-type fort-thing. There were some bambi-deer which were cute until they got close up and one of them had a haunted lumpy dangly-thing attached to it which may have been trying to attach itself to us. I was a total coward and ran away - swiftly followed by Troy and Sassini. We hid in a tower which was smart since deer can't cope with stairs. In your face deer!

As well as the castle-part, there is a toy museum...which is where things get extra fun. I mean - TOY MUSEUM!!! To get to that part of Mount Super Fun, you need to walk up a hill...but this hill is full of DINOSAURS. Oh - and a talking tree - but that doesn't really count since the tree didn't talk to us on the way up. Sassini tried it on with a shark - but that all ended up in tears.

Speaking of tears - some of the toys were amazing. There was a Boudoir Doll and a doll with three faces and a giant ET and a bunch of coin-operated machines that put on little shows for you and even a Boy George waxwork! OMG! They also had waxworks of the Beatles but I thought the Boy George one was much better.

Sassini put on a mini puppet show for us which consisted of various puppets popping up to say "Hello! [name of puppet] here" and then disappearing. It was very post-post modern in my opinion. Also, it was ace.

Then we had a picnic under the catapult and it was very sunny. The goats and lumpy deer didn't bother us...possibly because they were scared of the catapult - who can say? We then went for a walk in the village, found out that there wasn't much else to do and returned to London. There, we went to the park and sang songs around the campfire... well...no, we just went to the park and then went our separate ways.

So yeah - I had a lovely Friday. Thanks to Troy and Sassini for looking after me and going along with my time fascism. Next up, I need to write all about MCM Expo...

Harry Potter: You-Know-Who is totally evil!

URNK! A friend said that my drawings have been good lately! Which is lovely! But now I'm scared about uploading anything that might be rubbish. Today's drawing was going to be about sexy buildings (seriously) but I'm playing it safe with good ol' Harry Potter. Check it out - You-Know-Who *and* Wormtail! I'm totally spoiling you.

In other news: Oh dear. According to the Thing Website, there won't be any more events in the future.

This is sad because it was the first comic event I had a stall at and I've met some amazing people by doing it for the last three years. I suppose I'll need to branch out a bit more or just organise something. But still, the three Thing anthologies I have (2008 - 2010) are amazing and I'm always super impressed with them. Plus I liked the map so you could see who you were booking a table next to. I don't mean that in a creepy way...it was just useful.

Stop looking at me like that.

Harry Potter: Captain Planet

So these last few weeks haven't been great and this week in particular has been pretty awful. Screw that - they've been terrible. Plus! I spent three out of the four Easter weekend days learning to animate and although I'm really happy with the end result, I can't help but worry that I should have spent more of my time actually doing things like having fun or talking to people?

Ho hum.

Here's a Harry Potter comic. I feel like Ron looks in the last panel. I'll work on some fresh stuff over the weekend so maybe everything will get better? Maybe I just need some pancakes?

FUN FACT: My favourite Planeteer was the Russian lady with wind powers

Harry Potter: His Mother's Eyes

Today is Tuesday! I had a pretty odd day where my pretend-to-cry ability came into use...which is rarely a good thing. On the plus side - here is a Harry Potter comic I've been keeping up my (wizard's) sleeve for a while. I wasn't sure about posting it since it makes me feel sick but I like the idea of Snape being an unstoppable flirt.

Also - since the UK Web and Comix Thing is fast approaching - here is a scan of the badge packs I'm bringing along. I added in two new designs - Robot and Generic Princess.

MEGAHOORAY!

Harry Potter: Colin Creevey Says Hello

Oh Colin Creevey... no one understands you. You just want Harry to notice you, right? You think he's the bee's knees and the two of you should totally be friends...so why is Harry always so mean to you? Also, why do you look like a reject from Jessica Fletcher Week?

In other news - it is totally March and it has totally sucked.

Plus - on the train I had the following exchange:

Two Little Children (pointing at my DS): Look! A DS!
Me: Eeep! Don't look! I'm playing nerdy games and I haven't cleaned my DS ever so it's covered in dirt and grime
Two Little Children: Why don't you clean it?
Me: I'm very busy. I shall clean it when I get home
Two Little Children: As if

I think I got served by those little children. FML

Harry Potter: Hermione's Revenge

Check. Me. Out. Three drawings in two days! Woo woo.
I had an exciting email today (which was probably sent to me by mistake) and I'm meant to be going to the cinema tomorrow with an amazing friend - so although I've been a bit sad lately, the future is looking like it could be interesting. HOORAY FOR THE FUTURE!

In other news, this is probably one of my favourite things I've drawn in a while. I like Hermione. She is my favourite character in the Potterverse. If someone upset me, I would totally set a bunch of magic birds on them. That would teach them.

I hope you like the drawing as much as I do...

Harry Potter!

It's wee Jimmy Krankie!

It's Harry Potter!

It's Jimmy Krankie and Harry Potter!

Can you imagine a world where Jimmy Krankie was as popular as Harry Potter?

CAN YOU IMAGINE?!?!
