Confessions!

It's Friday and no - there are still no wizards! None for you! You'll have to wait until next week!

But here is a drawing about people with confessions. This was totally drawn whilst watching television - you can tell because the lady's head keeps changing shape. Hahahaha. And they are wearing green and red - Christmas colours!

I'm having a bit of a tough time with things at the moment. I'm not sure it's even worth writing about (or whether I'd feel comfortable about writing it down) but hopefully it will be sorted in the next few weeks. Ugh.

The Doughnut Dilemma

You know what I love? I love a good doughtnut. My favourite type of doughnut is one with icing and sprinkles/hundreds and thousands. I think I prefer a doughnut with a hole in it because they are easier to eat. And they usually don't have gunk in them.

You know what I don't love? That horrible guilty feeling you get when you've almost finished eating the doughnut. Half of you is still greedy and thinking "Yeah! Doughnut!" and the other half is going "You are a fat pig and an awful person. Look at you - stuffing your face with all that sugar. You are disgusting."

So yeah - here's a drawing about that very specific feeling. You know how much I love feelings, right?

IN OTHER NEWS: I'm not feeling great at the moment. Boo hoo. And next week is going to be my Review of the Year! I did it last year and it was fun - but it's a bit earlier this time round. Oh. And I rarely have a lot of self-confidence about my drawings...but Friday's drawing is pretty ace and features a rap! Oh. Em. Gee. And it also sees me debut a brand new pen!!! Wowsers.

Emma: Crabs

Remember Emma? Probably not - but she's back so deal with it! And yes - if you've read a lot of my stuff, those crabs should look familiar too. At least, I could totally understand if you got them confused with Space Crabs! Oh dear - my drawings look so much nicer these days, eh?

Anyways - Wednesday is done and dusted. I was meant to see pals for Burger Time but it ended up falling through. But that meant I had time to get a head start with Jessica Fletcher Week. I had five new submissions today! Two of them were from Spain! Wowsers! But besides collating all the drawings (and poems), I've still got to make my own Jessica Fletcher-themed drawings!

But that's enough worrying. I had an email from someone I think is ace today - which really cheered me up. And I'm seeing pals over the next few evenings. Also, it's a month until Christmas! A month! Then it's Christmas. I don't know how I feel about Christmas but I know how I feel about 2010 speeding by so quickly: and that's terrified. *sigh*

Feelings

Oh Toby. This is the very reason I could never ask anybody if they have feelings for me. Although, it's such a bizarre question I sort of feel that you're just begging for trouble by asking it.

Speaking of asking questions - someone asked me a question on the comments section of the blog and I don't appear to know how to reply to comments. So if you ever have a question and you want to leave a comment, I'll normally reply in the comments there. Unless someone can tell me how to reply to comments the proper way.

And since Wade was curious - the movie I watched last night was Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day. I decided that watching a Disney film was risky since I needed some sleep. But the film totally did the trick - I felt much better - much less achey and my brain only felt a little grim. Hooray!

Right then - don't forget about Jessica Fletcher Week! I had some great entires last year and new ones are still coming in. Get stuck in! Ask your friends! Ask your family! Ask your effing frog if you have one (and it doesn't mind giving it a go - you mustn't force anyone)! Go for it!

Wizarding Wednesday #6

Ugh. Obviously it's Wizarding Wednesday but I feel poorly. Boo hoo hoo.

There isn't much exciting news today. My brain feels like it's melting and everything aches. Wah wah wah. Even worse - my stomach is misbehaving! I feel hungry but my stomach is all "don't put no effing food in me." I drank some orange juice and now I'm going to bed... with a Disney movie. Because I'm cool like that.

Happy Wizarding Wednesday you guys!

He Ain't Heavy...

Hello! I have the day off work today! I'm going to do lots of sewing and lots of drawing and I may or may not attempt to cook some food. And by food, I obviously mean cookies. And to be honest, my cooking abilities are not high. I think being scared of pretty much everything involved in cooking (knives, hot things, eggs) makes the whole process a bit tricksy.

ANYWAYS! Here is a new drawing. It probably isn't obvious, but I totally tried using a different colour scheme than usual. It was meant to look a bit like Autumn... *awkward silence*

IN OTHER NEWS: I socialised this evening. I met up with some old work pals and we took part in a pub quiz. We came second! And the team that won had about twenty people in it... Well done us! Oh! And I'm tagging this under "boo hoo," because I don't like leaving the tags empty... I'm not actually sad.

Real Life: Glasses

I've worn glasses for a long time. I never got teased when I was yougner (even though my glasses were HUGE) but as I've grown up (and my glasses have got nicer), I've found that I've been getting more and more stick. I mean, I get a fair bit of stick for a lot of things, but I'm always surprised when people tease me about my glasses. Glasses are cool, right?

Right?!

If they aren't cool then I'll be sad.

Have a great weekend!

Harry Potter: Ladium Gagamus!

One of my favourite story lines in the Harry Potter series is...

SPOILERS!

Hermione's transformation from bushy-haired bookworm to boy-magnet bookworm - all in the space of seven brilliant books. I mean, she went from someone with lots of books and no potential smooching...to a library fiend who was fending off boys like you wouldn't believe. I reckon if there was a new book, Voldemort himself would have put the moves on Ms. Granger. Plus, I can't be the only one who thoguht Neville might have had the hots for Hermione?

SPOILERS ARE OVER!

But anyways. Here's a drawing about Harry Potter and Lady Gaga. I hope you like it.

IN OTHER NEWS: I spent the day in bed and feeling poorly. Snots levels are down from yesterday but I still feel like poop. Boo hoo.

Big Baby

GOOD NEWS: I've decided to upload this drawing! I've had it in my bag o' tricks for a while and it might be one of my favourites... I hope you like it too!

BAD NEWS: Tuesday's grim cough have evolved into Wednesday's super grim cough and a nasty headache. I spent Tuesday night having that awful thing where you have to swallow down vomit. Oh. Is that too much information? Well, good! Feel sorry for me! Boo hoo hoo.

Real Life: Call Me

I'm thinking of trying out some new stuff drawing-wise...maybe fewer strips and more "a-page-a-week" type thing. Either way, here's a real life story about my real life.

I don't think it's fair to draw other people in a Real Life comic unless they agree to it...and obviously I couldn't ask this particular person because I've never heard from them since meeting them. Plus, this has happened so often, it's sort of fitting to use a big green blob - much easier than drawing out however-many-people I would actually have to draw if I was being true to life.

Plus I'm not as cute as the Drawn-Version-Of-Me when I cry. Or in general

IN OTHER NEWS: Goodnight!

Draw A Monster!

So...rather than just upload a drawing and cry about how awful I am, I thoght I'd try something different. It's not ground-breaking or anything, but humour me, OK?

Right. So - the drawing today is of the main character from Hairspray (the musical version). It's a fun movie if you haven't seen it. ANYWAYS. I did an original version of the drawing and thought it was too boring...so I added in a monster face into her hair. And then I thought "that was fun. I wonder what other people would draw in her hair."

So, I've uploaded the no-monster version and I'd like you (whoever you are) to save it, draw something in her hair (please nothing terribly rude etc) and then send it back to me so I post it here. Come on, what do you have to lose? Plus, I'd totally owe you one!

Go for it. Then ask you friends!

Oh! And here's the original:

Captain Planet Week: Toxic

Look! It's Captain Planet! And it's Captain Planet Week! It's like I planned it or something.

Today is Thursday but this week feels like it has been going on for a month. Bleh.

But since I'm trying to be positive, here are some things I'm looking forward to:
  1. I'm seeing a friend at the weekend
  2. I have worked hard this week
  3. People I Know #11 is taking shape
  4. Scott Pilgrim Vol. 6 is out soon
  5. As is the Scott Pilgrim movie
  6. It is nearly the weekend

Harry Potter: Ginny!

Woo! It's Monday! But that means I didn't get to talk about Friday! OMG! Also - check out Miss Sassypants herself - Ginny Weasley is on the scene!

FRIDAY:
On Friday, I was sociable. I went to a pub and spoke to people and didn't run away after three minutes. Well done me. I had a very nice time and got to talk about stuff...mostly the Doctor Who finale. I didn't really like Doctor Who until the new guy arrived. Plus, I like River Song's catchphrase...spoilers, indeed. And I spoke to some people I've been to scared to talk to before. Yeah! The only downside was that getting home was a pain in the arse. Ho hum.

THE WEEKEND:
I was meant to visit a friend's house for a BBQ...but I just woke up on the miserable side of bed. It was weird and unpleasant, but I got lots of drawing done. Oh - and I watched these ace movies:
  1. What a Girl Wants
  2. A Cinderella Story
  3. The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Even those movies were all genetically designed to cheer me up, I just moped about and drew by fingers to the bone. I hope the BBQ Pal won't hate me.

MONDAY:
A friend lent me the latest True Blood book so I'm devouring that. It's not my favourite so far...it feels like a lot of set up is taking place. Blah.

IN OTHER NEWS: It looks like this might be a pretty intense Summer. I'm possibly going to Caption and to Edinburgh! This is more travelling than I've done in the last year. Huh.

Question Time Pirate

Hello! I was planning to update the blog with a new drawing every day this week....but I was working super hard yesterday so I didn't get round to it. Sorry.

To make up for it - look! It's a Pirate! He loves to answer your questions. Today he answers one of the most famous questions in musical history: how do you solve a problem like Maria? Seriously - how?

I think the Question Time Pirate might appear some more...whenever I can draw him. Drawing time seems to be harder to come by at the moment. I guess I know what to do over the weekend. Sigh.

IN OTHER NEWS: I cut my finger whilst doing the washing up. Boo hoo. I've met some exciting people though! Oh! And my weekend was fantastic. Saturday was at work but in a fun way and then there were pancakes! Sunday was a trip to the a museum. It was really hot but I had some ice cream and then we had a picnic. And there was a band playing songs whilst we ate. YEAH!

Escape Route

Someone wrote this in an email to me and I got a little emotional. So I made them a picture! It's meant to be a Q quote from James Bond but I think they paraphrased. Still - I like this version better - and I hope you do too!

Captain Picard Day 2010

Captain Picard Day was yesterday and the very talented Rosemary Travale asked people for drawing and what not to celebrate it. Here is my contribution - look at little Wesley Crusher!

Today waried between stressful and surreal. it ended in burgers with a pal though so that's good.

IN OTHER NEWS: I am working on a print-on-demand book! I want to finish it by end of Summer. It's just going to be drawings and stuff...but is there anything in particular you'd like to see? What I guess I mean is: what would a book have to involve for you to want to buy it?

EDIT:

Ke$ha is wild (and likes knitting)

It's Wednesday! I hate myself! Must be time for another drawing!

This time, Ke$ha gets interviewed. She is sooooo wild - you better watch out. I have another Ke$ha drawing to upload at some point - I hope you're as excited as I am.

In other news - I almost did a cry today but I had a quick motivational texting session with a pal and everything worked out. Then I had some cake. Woo! Cake!

FUN FACT: I spent a long time trying to decide what Ke$ha's hobby was going to be. Isn't that interesting?

Xena Warrior Princess: Battleplans

So I did a bit of drawing at the weekend and I've officially decided to upload a drawing every weekday...but only for this week. Today's drawing is of Xena Warrior Princess and Gabrielle. Maybe I'll draw Hercules at some point?

In other news - I've been feeling quite boo hoo about lots of things. I worry that I spend too much time trying to make stuff and not enough time actually doing regular things. And I'm always trying to learn new skills but rarely mastering one. Maybe I should spend some time just focussing on making songs or doing drawings or sewing owls until they get much better? Hmmm...

Speaking of multimedia - I signed up to HitRECord. Maybe I'll upload some old songs or something.

UPDATE: I uploaded an old song I made a long time ago onto my Tumblr. Check it out!

How are you?

Goodbye Little Robot

Another animated...thing? This time, it's for a leaving present for someone. I hope they like it! I didn't have the time to make it all proper but it's still cute. HOORAY!

Real Life: People to See!

Hello! It is Sunday evening which means tomorrow is Monday. Don't believe me? Check out a calender! Yeah - who's laughing now, eh?

Anyways - I've been miserable. So miserable that someone kindly sent me a "cheer up email," which is the sort of thing I would normally do for other people. So thank you very much Mister Email Sender - I'll write you a proper email later. I've been so miserable that someone told me I've been like a dish cloth - which is pretty miserable.

So! I'm officially taking the bull by the horns and I'm going to try to tackle a few of the things that have been making me sad. I'm going to start eating properly and I'm going to start socialising and I'm not going to drown in all the stuff I need to do. In your face Misery!

If this was a movie and I was a sassy lady character, this would be the moment when I get a makeover and cut my hair.
