Hello!
In today's drawing, a pal asks me what I got up to last night...but as you see - you don't find out because it's all a bit of a blur. Terrible pun aside, I wanted to put the un-blurred version up so you could see what I've been up to... Here you go!
So, there you go! I've been trying to be very sociable. It's a bit of a new adventure for me but I'm enjoying myself which is a good thing. PLUS! I went to All Tomorrow's Parties and had an amazing time. I saw some bands I'm crazy about...and I saw some I'd never heard of. There were a lot of drumkits. I think one band had five on stage at once. Maybe that's why I enjoyed The Magnetic Fields and Joanna Newsom so much? But that's for a different blog post.
Oh! I did some drawings as well!
This one is for my pal Dan (who was poorly)!
This is some fan art for Kieron Gillen's Journey Into Mystery. It's Little Loki! Awwwww!
And here is my pal - riding a caticorn!
I think that's it. Well done for making it this far! Have a lovely weekend!

Eggs
That's right - you can laugh all you want, but eggs terrify me! I've only recently been able to face cracking them and I refuse to eat them if they still look eggy. I can just about manage omlettes...
IN OTHER NEWS: I appear to be ill. Boo hoo.
Oh - and don't forget to check out my revamped website!

Real Life: Catchphrase
OMG! It's effing Friday! WOO HOO! And look - I even did a new drawing! Today's drawing features that mean green thing and good ol' me. If you don't remember, I lasered that mean green thing a while ago when it teased me about my glasses. Oh lasers.
PLUS! You get to see another of the mean green thing's magical powers!
But yeah - that's not the only news! At some point this week, my proper website will be offline. But don't worry - it should be back the following week...with a brand new look and maybe a surprise or two? Well, probably just one surprise but it's a corker. The whole thing might be done before then so please keep an eye out!
The bad news is that you'll have to go without any new drawings for a week! Sorry! I hope we can still be pals!

Real Life: Surprise!
Hello Monday! Don't worry - I'm not angry with you for ending the weekend because I've got the week off! HOORAY! I'm seeing lots of pals this week and working on some new badges and posters. I might need to pick your brains about the designs for the poster... I hope you don't mind!
Because I've got so much fun/drawing planned for the week, I spent pretty much all my weekend at the computer, doing more drawing... I figure that the more of the grunt work I do now, the more fun stuff I can do later. I hope you'll enjoy the end product of my hardwork!
Oh! And I decorated some gingerbread men. That was nice.
IN OTHER NEWS: Here is a new drawing about that mean green thing. Here we get to see one of his magical powers! And isn't it creepy? I was thinking of using sound effects for when people go inside him...but all I could think of was "SLURP" and that made me feel sick. So no sound effects for you!
UPDATE!!! - I did a guest comic for Left-Handed Toons! I hope you like it!

Real Life: Ugly
If you've been reading my comics for a while then you might recognise this mean and mysterious green blob. He represents a variety of people when they say mean things but I don't want to draw them.
You might recognise him from some of these drawings:
But I've decided to make the most of him so I hope you'll give him a warm welcome into the Official People I Know Gang! He'll still be in charge of saying the awful people things I've dealt with in real life, but he will also be in charge of causing trouble.
IN OTHER NEWS: I'm really happy with the positive response to my Hourly Comic drawing. Maybe I'll try doing some more auto biographical stuff... or maybe not. Either way, I hope you liked them!

- That time I used my laser eyes
- That time I cried
- That time he first appeared

Terrible Jokes. Worse Drawings #2
BONJOUR! Remember that time I uploaded those Terrible Drawings with even worse jokes? Well - here are some more! Both of them are jokes I was using for real life...but it turns out that the people I tested them out on were NOT amused. The Rihanna joke in particular - which I personally find HILARIOUS, was met with incredible disdain. I was pretty mortified. Seriously.
You know what though? The next time you listen to that Rihanna song ("What's My Name?"), sing along but replace the "oh na na" bits with "ba-na-na." It's so catchy! If I wasn't scared of all the mean comments, I'd record a cover version myself and put it on YouTube...
Speaking of comments - thanks for the support about me pigging out on the chocolate. Today, I had some cookies - but only little ones. Phew.

Real Life: A Serious Drawing
Good day to you! It's Friday! I am so excited about this weekend - I get to see a pal I haven't seen in ages and I'm making them take me on a MEGAWALK around town. I might not have told them about the walking part but I'm still super excited about seeing them.
But yeah. Here's a drawing about friends. It's meant to be a bit of a 'serious' comic because it's about people being mean and there isn't a punchline. I also used it to test out a colouring arrows - something which will be put to further use in a future comic.
What else is there to report? Not much really. I felt a bit weird on Thursday, which is never fun.
IN CONCLUSION: Have a lovely weekend! And don't forget to look after your friends!

Real Life: Bin News Weekly
Hey gang! It's Friday! Friiiiiiiiiday! And guess who went to a fancy place on Thursday evening and ate a fancy burger? Me! Yeah! I know I shouldn't have eaten a burger but it's my first one of 2011 and I figured I wouldn't get the chance to go there again... at least, not for a while! And some lovely people were there too. And we all know that lovely people + burger = great evening.
Speaking of great things, today's drawing features a pal from work. We sit next to each other and share a bin (a rubbish bin? a waste paper basket? you know what I mean) and for some reason, we started giving our bin names. Originally it was Bingelina but then we moved desks and got a new bin, which obviously needed a new name. This game has continued and makes everything much more fun. I would recommend it to everyone. Especially you!
IN OTHER NEWS: Enjoy the weekend! And don't forget that Valentine's Day is only a month away. I'm already organising how best to get stood up.

Real Life: Burgers
If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know how much I love a good burger. For future reference, I'm especially keen on having extra bacon and cheese in my burgers! Oh! And if it's a chicken burger then I would not be upset to find pineapple inside as well.
I wish burgers were officially healthy for you. As it is, I'm trying to eat less at the moment. I don't think I've had one in 2011 - and it's already ten days into the year! Wow. In fact, I need to clear up my act with food in general. I should learn to cook real food - not just cookies or toast.
Ugh. It sounds like I'm going to have to become a grown up this year. Wish me luck.

Real Life: Cold
It's Tuesday and I don't know about you, but quite a lot of the festive period was spent huddled under blankets - because it was pretty cold! There was lots of snow and I had to wear a scarf. I even did a drawing about it!

Review of 2010: Scott Pilgrim
I've already gone on about how much I love Scott Pilgrim... except it turns out I never got round to writing that review of Volume Six. Awkward.
But yeah - 2010 was a big year for whatever Scott Pilgrim fans call themselves. Pilgrims? Scottaholics? Whatever. Yeah - 2010 saw the release of the final volume in the series as well as a sodding movie! The final installment in the epic tale of twenty-something Scott and his slacker life was pretty much brilliant. I'd go through it page-by-page but it's late and I'm not too sure where my copy is. But pretty much the entire thing was amazing - from *SPOILERS* Envy's outfits to Knives' general sassyness. If you haven't read it then we probably can't be BFFs - sorry. But you can fix that by reading it.
And there was the movie too! It was actually fun! I know I'm meant to hate it for not sticking to the comics (where the eff was Lisa Miller?!) but it was still worth watching. Twice, in my case. The soundtrack was cool, The Clash at Demonhead were ace, the fights were epic and I especially love Ramona's hammer making a hard-hitting (chortle chortle) appearance. Like the comic, you should give it a go if you haven't...
And, in case you haven't figured it out, both the comic and the movie made great use of sound effects - as demonstrated in the above drawing. "BOP" is still my favourite (it's somewhere in Volume Four) and I enjoy using it in real life. Or "IRL" as no one says anymore. It's a term of endearment - a sound to be made whilst affectionately (and gently) punching someone in the arm.
Obviously I'll be sad that there won't be any more Scott Pilgrim to look forward to. I'll never get to see Kim Pine fight or how Knives copes with university or what amazing special move Scott is working on next - but I suppose that's the mark of a good book. Someone with an excellent beard once described the Scott Pilgrim series to me as "our generation's Harry Potter," but I disagree - it's our generation's Scott Pilgrim and that's more than epic enough.
UPDATE: I did an interview here! Promise not to laugh!

Real Life: Wrap Up Warm
Hello! It's Friday - which means I've got a weekend of drawing to look forward to! Hooray! Except I have exciting things planned like getting a haircut and going to a birthday party! And I might even visit a jumble sale on Sunday! Wowsers! Check me out and all the crazy stuff I get up to. If I was any wilder, Ke$ha would be worried about her position as the #1 Wild Person on the Planet.
IN OTHER NEWS: I am really proud of this drawing. It features a rap, for goodness sake! I highly recommend doing the rap whenever you're bored - it's good fun. Maybe try out some sassy moves whilst rapping? Yeah! Give it some attitude! And let me know how it goes...
Also, this drawing might look a little different than usual since I'm using a new pen! It's a fountain pen with a proper nib recommended by the lovely Dan Berry. I was getting really fed up since the pens I was using, although cheap, had a nasty habit of getting wonky nibs - which meant the lines kept changing size on how you held them. I just want a nice constant line. And this fancy pen does that. And it makes me feel like a grown up. I'm still getting used to it though so I'm sorry for any wobbly lines.
Actually, I'm not sorry! I just uploaded a rap! You should all write raps too! We can be rap twins.

Leaving
Remember when I left my Old Job and started a New Job? Well, this is the drawing I sent round to say goodbye to the nice people at the Old Job. I hope they liked it. More importantly, I'm still enjoying New Job. Except one of the computers was really misbehaving today and I was sad because of that. Shame on you, Computer! Shame. On. You!
Anyways - there still appear to be new people checking out the website. I hope this means that my mega flyer attack on MCM Expo worked! Hello new people! Whilst you're here, please enjoy yourself.
Right. What else? OH! I'll be at Comiket this weekend! Come and visit! Or don't! It's up to you!
IN OTHER NEWS: I was only joking about the whole "don't visit me at Comiket," thing.

What's in a Name?
So, my friend and I were discussing what would happen if we had a baby. I can't remember why but the baby ended up being called Jumanji...and I think we're all agreed that this is a brilliant name. And look how cute lil' ol' Jumanji is!
FUN FACT: The second-to-last panel features a brand new facial expression. Exciting, eh?
So it's Friday and I've taken the day off work so I can attend the MCM Expo. Remember - if you're coming to visit me, please do this dance. I'm really looking forward to the next three days but anticipate being exhausted by the end of it.
IN OTHER NEWS: I had a lie in this morning. It was amazing.

Kinky Girlfriend...
I feel a bit gross for doing this drawing...but a friend asked me for something about him and this puppet he got his hands on (in?). Who am I to disappoint? Oh! I did a drawing about him a while ago. He looks much better now. Or maybe that's just my drawing?
Anyways. Hello! With working hard and socialising, my evenings have been eaten up... which is a real pain since I've still got LOADS to do before MCM Expo. Ho hum.
Speaking of MCM Expo, remember last time I made a dance routine for you to do? Well, I haven't had the chance to make a new one so feel free to do that one again... Here it is again:

Real Life: Angela Lansbury
Good news! I made a new friend! Better news! He met Angela Lansbury once! And I know what you're thinking: I bet he just said that to trick me into being his friend... EXCEPT! I didn't tell him about my love of all things Lansbury. It just came up in conversation. And he was like "So you like Murder, She Wrote."
Obviously I didn't actually puke on him. That would have be weird and it's probably safe to say that we wouldn't be pals... but I did a bit of a puke in my brain. Does that count?
ANYWAYS! I've been eating lots of lasagne.

Real Life: OMG! Playsuit!
I don't about where you live...but all around town, some company has a new advertising campaign. It makes me laugh since all the ads start with "OMG...where did you get that [insert item here]"
My friend's sister has a playsuit. It is navy. Sometimes my friend borrows it. Sometimes my friend's sister wears it. The important thing is that someone I know has a playsuit. Here is a drawing about it. With my sister's friend as a bonus prize. I don't think she has actually been to prison though - I'm just teasing. Please don't beat me up.
IN OTHER NEWS: I got a test sample of something exciting. I'll post a picture once I've confirmed the order with money and stuff.
IN MORE OTHER NEWS: I set up a fun game for you to play. Please play it! It's cute! You might be able to win something? I don't know...

Remember that one time I made a new friend? Well, he's back...and so is his iron!
IN OTHER NEWS: It was the weekend! I got really wet feet but I got to hang out with nice people so that's OK. Oh - and I made stuff for someone and I'm going to turn it into a game. I need to upload it and then we can talk about it.

Real Life: Glasses
I've worn glasses for a long time. I never got teased when I was yougner (even though my glasses were HUGE) but as I've grown up (and my glasses have got nicer), I've found that I've been getting more and more stick. I mean, I get a fair bit of stick for a lot of things, but I'm always surprised when people tease me about my glasses. Glasses are cool, right?
Right?!
If they aren't cool then I'll be sad.
Have a great weekend!
