The Coolest Gang In Town...

Face it. Mystery Inc. are totally the collest kids in Coolsville. I'll post a comic with them solving an important mystery at some point this week...but until then, check this (poor quality YouTube clip) out:

Lady Gaga versus Beyonce

So...I thought that the new Lady Gaga video for Telephone was going to be released this weekend. I don't know why I thought that but I must be mistaken since the entire world doesn't appear to be wetting themselves like they should be.

Top Three Reasons Why The World Should Be Excited About A New Lady Gaga Video:
  1. Lady Gaga will be in it!
  2. Beyonce will (possibly) be in it too!
  3. They will (possibly) do a dance together!

BONUS FACT: The song is brilliant and yet another example of Lady Gaga using my life as an inspiration for her song

BFF - Best Friends Forever!

I just wrote an email to a friend how this year at the Thing 2010 will be the first where I will know more than two other people selling stuff. And this will be my third year here. Isn't that crazy/depressing...

I'm pretty excited about the Thing - mainly because I've been working hard for the last few months to get everything sorted early. No more last minute dashes for me! Plus, I'm keen to see how the Dino-Saw-Us Project comes along. As long as at least one person gives it a go then I'll be happy!

Here is a random comic which was inspired by all those movies where two people stop hating each other after going on a madcap adventure. I wish that happened in real life - I spend half my life on public transport and since that's a bit of an adventure, I would have thousands of friends!

FUN FACT: I don't know what the Rainbow Chicken is or where it came from but I quite like it.

DINO-SAW-US!

This was posted over at the Dino-Saw-Us blog...so I've just copy and pasted it here because I'm too stupid to know how

DINO-SAW-US is an awesome sticker collector game that will launch at the Web and Mini Comix Thing March 27th 2010!

Artists- to be involved simply order your passport stickers from moo.com (£4.99 for a book of stickers) or get a passport style stamp made of your artwork, then mention you are part of the project so we can link you below. If you mention it on your blog too and spread the word then await millions of people (or maybe just two) who will visit your stall in order to collect their sticker (and hopefully buy loads of your stuff as well!)

Collectors- just come along to the Web and Mini Comix Thing in London (link below for details) where you can get a passport booklet for FREE! You can then take this passport to your favourite stalls who are participating and begin your collection of exclusive stickers! It's like a treasure hunt, but with stickers.

It's fun! And cool. And maybe you'll make some new friends.

Sorry if you read this and the right hand column so you read it twice (ha ha a trick!) Oh and the stickers/stamps you make don't have to be dinosaur related, we have just themed this to go with the Web and Mini Comix anthology theme this year which is DINOSAURS. You can make your stickers to go with your work (or dinosaurs if you want, anything is fine. But nothing rude.)

The Annotated Weekender

There's a blog called The Annotated Weekender where a man that can properly draw does proper drawings over the magazine part of the Guardian.

It's funny and great and to celebrate the blog's birthday, it was open to regular people... regular people like me!

So I totally gave it a go (which is pretty brave for me) and you can see the results over here... On the downside - I'm sandwiched between talented folk, so my piss jokes look extra rubbish.

But there's always next year. I promise to be much better next year. You won't even recognise me/my drawings! Maybe I'll learn to draw hands or something?!

Another story that actually happened!

I quite enjoyed doing the comic about real life...so here is another one!

This week has been pretty weird and the Meowing Girl totally added to that. She seemed pretty angry until she 'meowed.' Also, the train platform was busy but I couldn't be bothered to draw everyone else. I mean, what's the point? They'd all end up looking the same anyway. Hooray for my drawing skillz!

There's something there that wasn't there before...

I have to go to bed since it's been a long day and tomorrow will be busy...but here is a cute (colour!) panel from my anthology piece for the Thing 2010.

As you can see - it features Christina in it.

In People I Know #9, you discover (indirectly) that Christina isn't actually her real name. How mysterious...

In other exciting news - the proof for People I Know #10 arrived... and it looks AMAZING! It might even be too fancy to be sold. I love it and I hope you do too. Oh - except they probably won't always look so fancy - it's just that this is the tenth issue and a bit of a milestone for me.

Lady Gaga versus the Brit Awards 2010

Lady Gaga went to the Brits this evening and she wore some clothes and then she won some awards and everybody clapped and said "well done Lady Gaga."

Here is a YouTube clip which will probably be taken down soon.

In other news - today was pretty amazing. My morning routine was FLAWLESS and I got to work early. I sent out something I'd worked on over the weekend and people liked it. Also - I had an interesting phone conversation about things. And I met up with a friend I haven't seen in a while and we had a great catch up and I ate a burger. My feet got wet but that's a small price to pay. Then I got home and found that an amazing person had sent me an amazing parcel from the West Coast of America. I've got lots of things to do with all the goodies she sent me. THANKS LKP! I'll write you a proper email when it's not bedtime.

Did someone say 'bedtime?'

Harry Potter: Hermione's Revenge

Check. Me. Out. Three drawings in two days! Woo woo.
I had an exciting email today (which was probably sent to me by mistake) and I'm meant to be going to the cinema tomorrow with an amazing friend - so although I've been a bit sad lately, the future is looking like it could be interesting. HOORAY FOR THE FUTURE!

In other news, this is probably one of my favourite things I've drawn in a while. I like Hermione. She is my favourite character in the Potterverse. If someone upset me, I would totally set a bunch of magic birds on them. That would teach them.

I hope you like the drawing as much as I do...

On a lighter note - Ugly Betty!

I don't like posting twice on the same day but that whole Valentine's Day crap left a bad taste in my mouth. But that's ok - Ugly Betty is here to save the day...
Oh...wait...never mind.

FUN FACT: The last panel originally had the guy saying "...and you're still ugly." I decided that was too mean though. Also, check out how amazing her dress is! I totally went to town colouring in that bad boy!

Valentine's Day 2010

Oh great. Valentine's Day...

Obviously I was super busy doing all sorts of romantic things and receiving lots of flowers and gifts and sexy text messages. It was pretty intense. I totally didn't spend the day playing Phantasy Star Zero, sewing cuddly owls and listening to some of the most depressing songs of all time.

BLEURGH!

My first comic about proper real life things...

So...I have a proper website where I just upload decent drawings. It's like the blog without all the moaning and crying and talk about feelings. I haven't had my website for very long and there are still a lot of changes to make but the important thing is that the above drawing will be the 50th one uploaded!

Since it's a bit of a special occassion, I made an effort and drew a scene from MY REAL LIFE! Doing the hourly comic thing was a bit of an eye-opener in drawing actual things about my actual life...and although I find it a bit creepy, I might try doing it a bit more from now on.

In other news, I took the day off as leave to run an errand for someone. It toko ages but that's ok because I spent the afternoon cutting out felt shapes to make cute things. I know - my life is super thrilling.

FUN FACT: I tried something a bit different /stupid when I drew me and the Mystery Person - we've both got very long bodies. There isn't a reason for doing this - I just wanted to try something new.

Harry Potter!

It's wee Jimmy Krankie!

It's Harry Potter!

It's Jimmy Krankie and Harry Potter!

Can you imagine a world where Jimmy Krankie was as popular as Harry Potter?

CAN YOU IMAGINE?!?!

Twilight? Bella? Edward? What?

I tried reading Twilight so me and some other people would have something to talk about and bond over. I was pretty sure I'd love it - all those emotions and vampires and crying etc etc... but it just. did. my. head. in.

URNK!

Seriously. I mean, I know I have high standards (Harry Potter! The Chrestomanci books! Computer game instruction manuals!) but Twilight was just so absurd. I have no trouble believing in vampires...but how could anyone invest any emotion in a character as hideous as Bella? Please, tell me - I need to know. Why would you make your main character be such a miserable turd?

It's a shame really, since the overall story (sexy vampires wanna smooch your face) is totally up my street.

Thanks for ruining it Bella. Thanks for ruining EVERYTHING!

Hourly Comic Day

So here is my first ever Hourly Comic Day thing. I found it both depressing and fun.

FUN: Quick! What's happening? Draw it!

DEPRESSING: I need to learn to draw properly. Also, I hate not having computer drawn boxes.

FACT: The Johnny Lee I'm reading about is a super smart guy who you can read about here

I'm in two minds about posting them on the proper Hourly Comic Day message board but I'm fine with plopping them down here. I hope you enjoy them...

UPDATE: I uploaded it to the proper message board. If anyone laughs at me then I'll be sad but that's ok. Nothing ventured, nothing gained etc etc...
