Real Life: Snip snip snip!

Today was funny. I had some interesting ideas about my future and had some interesting news about August... but that was all pushed to the side when I realised I hadn't blogged about  my hair cut. What was I thinking?! I get my hair snipped at the same place in Soho and when I first went, I would always try to explain what I wanted by pushing my hair into position. Obviously that wasn't helpful and I just ended up taking a picture along.

This time I just asked for "the usual" and it was mostly fine.

There - wasn't that a boring story.

IN OTHER NEWS: I was sleepy and sad today. And I need to stop eating so much junk food.

Question Time Pirate

Hello! I was planning to update the blog with a new drawing every day this week....but I was working super hard yesterday so I didn't get round to it. Sorry.

To make up for it - look! It's a Pirate! He loves to answer your questions. Today he answers one of the most famous questions in musical history: how do you solve a problem like Maria? Seriously - how?

I think the Question Time Pirate might appear some more...whenever I can draw him. Drawing time seems to be harder to come by at the moment. I guess I know what to do over the weekend. Sigh.

IN OTHER NEWS: I cut my finger whilst doing the washing up. Boo hoo. I've met some exciting people though! Oh! And my weekend was fantastic. Saturday was at work but in a fun way and then there were pancakes! Sunday was a trip to the a museum. It was really hot but I had some ice cream and then we had a picnic. And there was a band playing songs whilst we ate. YEAH!

Ke$ha Week: Fanmail

So this is the last drawing for Ke$ha Week. And look! Everything worked out fine in the end. I managed to upload a drawing everyday and Ke$ha finally got some ice cream. I imagine her favourite ice cream flavour is something really wild... like cookie dough!

Anyways. I hope you've enjoyed Ke$ha Week. I don't know what I'll be uploading next week or whether I can manage doing a different drawing each day - especially because work is being extra demanding. But still - thanks for sticking through the week and I promise to be brilliant at some point soon.

Ke$ha Week: Poo in a Box

It's Ke$ha Week so that means another drawing of Ke$ha. I drew my first ever realistic-looking poo for this. How wild. How realistic! Ke$ha would be so proud!

Ke$ha Week: Stage Outfit

Ke$ha Week is at the halfway point now! You can still send along a drawing of Ke$ha if you want...

Ke$ha Week: Graham drew a Ke$ha!

OMG!!!

Do you remember that time when Ke$ha got a cat? Graham certainly does. LOOK! He drew a Ke$ha for Ke$ha Week! He wins at life! In fact, he wins extra points because the cat makes an appearance too!

You can check out his non-Ke$ha related stuff over here

Brilliant. Brilliant. Brill-i-ant!

Ke$ha Week: Wild Wizard of Oz

Ke$ha Week continues! I really like this drawing - especially the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion. Maybe I should start drawing like that all the time?

Remember: if you want to submit a last minute drawing for Ke$ha Week then just drop me an email.

Ke$ha Week: Number One Fan

If you've been reading my blog for a bit then you know all about my drawings of Ke$ha - a pop starlet who makes a big song and dance about her naughty and wild antics. When I was much yougner, I would have believed everything she said...whereas now I just laugh and feel sorry for all the people that swallow the stories of her puking in shoes or brushing her teeth with fizzy pop.

Anyways. I did loads of drawing this weekend (and lots of walking too!) and ended up with enough Ke$ha material for an entire WEEK! So, this week is officially Ke$ha Week on my blog and website. I shall celebrate by puking in some shoes wearing my placenta round my neck  watching Murder She Wrote.

If you want to do a drawing of Ke$ha or something then please do and email it over to timothy UNDERSCORE winchester AT yahoo DOT com

Escape Route

Someone wrote this in an email to me and I got a little emotional. So I made them a picture! It's meant to be a Q quote from James Bond but I think they paraphrased. Still - I like this version better - and I hope you do too!

Captain Planet!

Today is Friday! I have uploaded a drawing every day this week! Well done me! HOORAY!

But you know what's even more exciting than that? Well... I suspect that this may be the 100th drawing I've uploaded onto my website! Wheeeeeeeeee!

So yes. Thank you very much for reading my blog or looking at my drawings and everything. I really appreciaite it and promise to get better!

Captain Picard Day 2010

Captain Picard Day was yesterday and the very talented Rosemary Travale asked people for drawing and what not to celebrate it. Here is my contribution - look at little Wesley Crusher!

Today waried between stressful and surreal. it ended in burgers with a pal though so that's good.

IN OTHER NEWS: I am working on a print-on-demand book! I want to finish it by end of Summer. It's just going to be drawings and stuff...but is there anything in particular you'd like to see? What I guess I mean is: what would a book have to involve for you to want to buy it?

EDIT:

Ke$ha is wild (and likes knitting)

It's Wednesday! I hate myself! Must be time for another drawing!

This time, Ke$ha gets interviewed. She is sooooo wild - you better watch out. I have another Ke$ha drawing to upload at some point - I hope you're as excited as I am.

In other news - I almost did a cry today but I had a quick motivational texting session with a pal and everything worked out. Then I had some cake. Woo! Cake!

FUN FACT: I spent a long time trying to decide what Ke$ha's hobby was going to be. Isn't that interesting?

Xena Warrior Princess: Battleplans

So I did a bit of drawing at the weekend and I've officially decided to upload a drawing every weekday...but only for this week. Today's drawing is of Xena Warrior Princess and Gabrielle. Maybe I'll draw Hercules at some point?

In other news - I've been feeling quite boo hoo about lots of things. I worry that I spend too much time trying to make stuff and not enough time actually doing regular things. And I'm always trying to learn new skills but rarely mastering one. Maybe I should spend some time just focussing on making songs or doing drawings or sewing owls until they get much better? Hmmm...

Speaking of multimedia - I signed up to HitRECord. Maybe I'll upload some old songs or something.

UPDATE: I uploaded an old song I made a long time ago onto my Tumblr. Check it out!

How are you?

MCM Expo - Cosplayers!

Oh! I forgot to talk about some of the awesome costumes at MCM Expo... so here are some of my favourites.

Check them out! We know how much I la la love the Scooby Gang - and these four are dressed as them! YEAH! I saw Fred walking about at first and yelled at him to bring the rest of the gang over - which he did later on. Thanks Fred!

I don't need to go on about Scott Pilgrim do I? Ramona gets bonus points for the hammer. I really like that hammer.

Hahahahahahaha! After the October MCM Expo, I wrote about the costumes I wanted to see - one of those being Professor Layton. As if by magic - look! It's Professor Layton and Luke! I think they've got it!

My final photo is of King from Tekken! I'm not a Tekken fan and I thought he was Vega from Street Fighter (he wasn't wearing his cat head at the time). He made the costume himself and I think Lizz was particularly impressed with his pants.

MCM Expo: May 2010 - A Write Up!

Hello

It’s been a while since I’ve done a proper post or a proper drawing. I’d apologise but I have been making cartoons and that counts for something, right? I’m not going to link to them here since they are just a few posts down – go find them yourself.

Anyways! A few weeks ago was the MCM Expo at the Excel Centre. This was my second time having a stall there and it was just as amazing and intense as my first. Seriously – it’s just incredible.

So, unlike last year, I had pretty much done everything in advance – no more picking up packages 12 hours before the event. The main difference this time was that Lizz Lunney and I were running the Dino-Saw-Us Sticker Game which we’d tried out at the Thing 2010. It probably doesn’t sound like much, but I spent more time and energy pushing the Dino-Saw-Us passports than I did with my own stuff…and I’m really glad I did. It seemed to go down really well with the visitors and I was really pleased with the number of people that swung by to show me their completed passports. The only downside: I killed my voice. Boo hoo.

So yes. Saturday was the first day. I was dressed as 1960s Robin (Lizz was 1960s Batman) in an attempt to blend in. I don’t know if it worked but people came to visit my table. I felt quite uncomfortable when people just took a picture…but I feel like that even when I’m wearing normal clothes so *shrugs*

My table was in between Howard and Lizz – who was sharing with Paperlillies and Wirrow. It was nice to be able to leave the table in safe hands and I hope they didn’t mind sitting next to me. I had cake and juice so that should have helped.

One of the weirdest things from MCM Expo was the Scott Pilgrim posters hanging up. As you may or may not know – I’m a *massive* Scott Pilgrim fan so I took a photo and put it on Twitter. Someone asked for the other five posters which I snapped on my pissy iPhone camera and uploaded. Next up, Edgar Wright retweets a link to the photos (via someone’s Flickr) and my rubbish photos are popping up all over the Internet. Look! They even made it onto Empire! Hahahahahahahahaha…..Talk about weirding me out.

I had some hideous commuting experiences both to and from the Excel Centre which I won’t talk about. Except that I got one of the trains with Philippa and that was super fun. Oh! And I met some lovely new people. The zombie guys behind me were nice and there was the man with the beard and camera! And Mister Thought Bubble. In fact, it’s looking like I’ll be selling stuff at Thought Bubble this year. Exciting!

Oh! And Special mention to Izzie who was the ONLY PERSON TO DO THAT DANCE ROUTINE. I mean, I spent ages devising a brilliant dance routine and only one person did it. Boo hoo hoo. I’ll never be a superstar choreographer at this rate. Oh – and Sam and Emma came to visit. Good work you two!

Sunday was slightly quieter which is just as well since I was shattered. I sold a fair few cuddly owls and tiny comics. I got through all my stickers for Dino-Saw-Us and we gave out all the passports...so all in all, it was a complete success. I even did a bit of socialising. Go me!

In conclusion: thanks to everyone for came to talk to me and buy stuff. Send me an email if you…um…something? Or whatever? Roll on next MCM Expo! HOORAY!

Goodbye Little Robot

Another animated...thing? This time, it's for a leaving present for someone. I hope they like it! I didn't have the time to make it all proper but it's still cute. HOORAY!

MCM Expo - Talking About Cosplayers

I know, I know...I *still* haven't written up my blurb about MCM Expo. Sorry.

But, until then, check out this podcast-type thing

The guy who did it has a good beard. My bit is hideous and makes me hate myself - but everyone else is funny and terribly well-spoken. I just sound like I'm having a drunk argument with a badger.

I have a picture of the cosplayers I was talking about though. They were ace.

Speaking of ace, don't forget to watch my animated cartoon! Super cute!

If I Was A Wizard

This was my entire weekend! The drawing and animating wasn't too painful but the sodding exporting and what not was HIDEOUS! I'm going to investigate making it look better since it looks much nicer on my computer...but I wanted to put *something* up otherwise I'd just feel lazy.

Let me know if you like it - I'll probably turn it into a comic too! HOORAY!

Friday = Funday

Sorry for the lack of blogs - it was MCM Expo at the weekend and it was super intense. I will totally write up my review of the whole thing though...but first, I need to write about my exciting adventure to Mount Super Fun!

I went to Mount Super Fun with two friends...but I don't like talking about people on the Internet because it seems odd. So, for the purposes of this blog, they shall be renamed Troy and Sassini. I made us meet up super early to catch the train

Once we'd paid to get into Mount Super Fun (we got there before the doors opened and were totally the first people there - except for the wiggly dog) there was a love machine. The lowest rating was "POOR FISH - TRY AGAIN." I was too scared to try it but I did try a machine later (why did they have so many?!) that told me I was "UNCONTROLLABLE"

There was also a wizard game where you shook hands with the wizard and he would tell you about...you? I didn't want to shake hands with a wizard but Troy did. Here is a picture:

An important thing to know about Mount Super Fun is that it has two exciting parts to explore - more if you're feeling generous. Firstly, there is a castle-type fort-thing. There were some bambi-deer which were cute until they got close up and one of them had a haunted lumpy dangly-thing attached to it which may have been trying to attach itself to us. I was a total coward and ran away - swiftly followed by Troy and Sassini. We hid in a tower which was smart since deer can't cope with stairs. In your face deer!

As well as the castle-part, there is a toy museum...which is where things get extra fun. I mean - TOY MUSEUM!!! To get to that part of Mount Super Fun, you need to walk up a hill...but this hill is full of DINOSAURS. Oh - and a talking tree - but that doesn't really count since the tree didn't talk to us on the way up. Sassini tried it on with a shark - but that all ended up in tears.

Speaking of tears - some of the toys were amazing. There was a Boudoir Doll and a doll with three faces and a giant ET and a bunch of coin-operated machines that put on little shows for you and even a Boy George waxwork! OMG! They also had waxworks of the Beatles but I thought the Boy George one was much better.

Sassini put on a mini puppet show for us which consisted of various puppets popping up to say "Hello! [name of puppet] here" and then disappearing. It was very post-post modern in my opinion. Also, it was ace.

Then we had a picnic under the catapult and it was very sunny. The goats and lumpy deer didn't bother us...possibly because they were scared of the catapult - who can say? We then went for a walk in the village, found out that there wasn't much else to do and returned to London. There, we went to the park and sang songs around the campfire... well...no, we just went to the park and then went our separate ways.

So yeah - I had a lovely Friday. Thanks to Troy and Sassini for looking after me and going along with my time fascism. Next up, I need to write all about MCM Expo...

Coming Soon: Wizards!

This is what I'm working on next... This is meant to move or something but I did it in a rush and what not. It's still pretty cute though, right?

Coming Soon...

Hello!

I totally survived MCM Expo and I even went on an adventure on Friday. But I haven't blogged about them yet since I just need a bit of a wind down after a super intense weekend. I met some amazing people and a massive thank you to everyone that stopped by my stall.

Until I do my write ups...here is a drawing about how fights were settled in Victorian times...

UPDATED: I set up a Tumblr. Now what?

Stay out of trouble
